The CEO of Landmark Group, Mr. Paul Onwuanibe, has expressed frustration and disappointment over the sudden demolition of their multimillion-dollar beach infrastructure. The group had invested a staggering $30 million in developing a world-class beach resort designed to enhance tourism and hospitality in the area.

Speaking on the incident, Mr. Onwuanibe revealed that the demolition occurred without any prior notice, leaving the company blindsided. “Guests were still sleeping at the beach hotel when the demolition happened,” he lamented. The abrupt nature of the event not only disrupted the comfort and safety of the guests but also posed a serious reputational risk to the Landmark brand.

The beach resort, a jewel in Landmark Group’s hospitality portfolio, was built to provide luxury and relaxation for both local and international tourists. It featured state-of-the-art amenities, including beachfront suites, recreational facilities, and eco-friendly designs. The development was also a major employer in the area, contributing significantly to the local economy.

Despite the scale of the destruction and its implications, Landmark Group has yet to receive any form of compensation. “We’ve not been compensated since,” Mr. Onwuanibe stated, emphasizing the financial and emotional toll the incident has had on the company and its stakeholders.

The lack of communication or explanation from the authorities responsible for the demolition has left many questioning the rationale behind such a drastic action. It has also raised concerns about the security of investments in the region, potentially deterring future investors.

Mr. Onwuanibe has called for accountability and dialogue, urging the authorities to address the issue promptly. “This is not just about Landmark; it’s about the broader message being sent to investors,” he remarked.

As the dust settles on this unexpected turn of events, the hospitality and tourism sectors await clarity and resolution. Meanwhile, Landmark Group continues to count its losses, hopeful for a fair resolution that acknowledges the significant investment and effort poured into the now-demolished beach resort.
